This exam qualifies you for the German language level B1 according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and is accompanied by an official certificate issued by the internationally recognised Goethe Institute.
The examination is modular in structure, comprising the parts listening (approx. 40 minutes), reading (65 minutes), writing (60 minutes) and speaking (15 minutes, pair examination) and is held on two afternoons. Examinations are offered several times a year.
With language skills at level B1 you can:
- understand the main points of information when clear standard language is used and when dealing with familiar matters from work, school, leisure, etc.
- cope with most situations you will encounter when travelling in German speaking countries.
- express yourself simply and coherently on familiar topics and personal areas of interest.
- report about experiences and events and describe dreams, hopes and goals as well as give short explanations and reasons.
