German Standard - Afternoon A1 - B2.2

• Focused. The pace and learning objective is individually determined in consultation with the teacher.  
• Homework supervision. 1x per week homework support is offered free of charge.
• Conversation. 2x per week an additional and free conversation lesson is offered for A1-B2 courses.
• Location. All NSH classrooms at each location are easily accessible - whether by public transport, car or bicycle.
• Quality. Teachers working at NSH are educated and certified native speakers.
• Certified. For over 70 years, NSH is an established and well-regarded institution in the education market. It is certified according to ISO 21001, the quality management system for the education and training sector
• Education voucher. For the A1-B2 courses, you can redeem the education voucher from the Canton of Basel-Stadt once..

Our group courses are held regularly with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 participants.

If there are less than 4 participants, it is important to us not to cancel the course, but to ensure that you can learn as planned. Therefore, we simply run the course as a small group with fewer lessons.

• with 3 participants, 70% of the lessons take place
• with 2 participants, 50% of the lessons take place
• with only one participant, we are happy to organize private lessons.

You will achieve your planned learning goal in this exclusive private group in the same way. Alone, in pairs or in threes, you will make faster progress with the course content. During the lessons, you can contribute more and the teacher can take more time for each student and support you more individually.

The first week of the course is a trial period. At the end of the week, a decision is made based on the number of participants as to whether a course will be run regularly, shortened or split into two groups. If you do not agree, we will look for another solution together.

For people who have moved to Basel-Stadt and have received a voucher for a free German course in Basel, this course at levels A1 to B2 is financed by the Basel-Stadt Department of Education. Please bring your voucher and your foreigner's identity card with you when you register.

For an initial assessment of your written language skills, you can complete an online language test comfortably at home. Take about 20 minutes to complete it. Send your test result to [email protected] and we will contact you!

For a precise level assessment, we recommend you to visit us personally. We are always available during our office opening hours! With our self-developed test, we can assess and advise you much more accurately. During the conversation, we can also evaluate your speaking skills.
