Early years bilingual education is based on the international pedagogical concept known as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP).
As in our Early Childhood Center priority is given to the children’s playful, bilingual furthering, which takes into account their different levels of development and interests. We lay the foundations for learning to read in both languages and the joy of dealing with numbers. The children are encouraged to ask questions and learn by experimenting so that they can perceive the world independently, respectfully and with a thirst for knowledge when they are older. In addition, we attach great importance to free play in nature and are outdoors with the children several times a day, regardless of the weather. Forest education is a fixed, important part of our curriculum. Therefore, we provide our enthusiastic children with creative freedom half a day per week in the nearby forest and by doing so, create environmental awareness and respect for nature.
The broad infrastructure of the whole school is also available to the children in this age group. This includes specialist rooms for art, creativity and music. Furthermore, the programme includes active games, gymnastics, exercise and dance in the multifunctional assembly hall as well as exciting participation in school performances with primary and secondary school students.
Depending on the parents’ professional situation and decision, we offer full-day or part-time education and care for children between 4-6 years of age.
In case the obligatory preschool is completed at ipso! International School, a minimum number of lessons has to be booked. That means that at least 4 mornings plus 2 afternoons or 5 mornings plus 1 afternoon have to be booked.
Children who attend the public preschool we offer the opportunity to visit our English Club for Kids on Friday afternoons. They learn the basics of English in a playful way through immersion (language bath).
